ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must be a Williamson County high school student--public, private or home school. DEADLINE to apply is midnight on April 15, 2024.
(1) Eligible categories have been revised this year as follows:
Category 1: Tech related art (photography and digital art)
Category 2: Dry & Mixed Media (charcoal, mixed media, pencil, colored pencil, chalk pastel)
Category 3: Wet Media (oil, watercolor, acrylic, oil pastel, tempera, ink).
No collages or sculptures.
(2) Submit only original work.
(3) Compositions taken from published material will not be considered original. Paintings based on another person's photograph, even if it is copyright-free, are NOT eligible.
(4) Artwork must be solely created by the student. No parental or other outside assistance is allowed.
(5) Artwork considered to be obscene or offensive will NOT be considered.
ENTRY INFORMATION: One piece of artwork may be submitted per student and should be selected with the assistance of the school's art teacher. Entry form must be complete and contain all signatures. Photo of artwork must be uploaded and included at the same time the entry form is sumbitted.
Once the top winning entries are notified, artwork should be brought to Williamson County Association of REALTORS at 1646 Westgate Circle, Suite 104, Brentwood, TN 37027 between the dates of May 6-10, 2024.
WCAR and the REALTOR Good Works Foundation cannot be responsible for damage, theft and/or loss to any piece of artwork once it has been dropped off. All care and caution will be taken when handling each piece.
A reception is scheduled on May 13 from 5:30-7:00 pm at WCAR where the winning entries will be on display and the final winners announced.
Award Amounts:
In each of the three categories, a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner will be named.
$500 to each 1st place winner + $500 to Art Dept of Winner's School
$250 to each 2nd place winner + $250 to respective school Art Dept.
$100 to each 3rd place winner + $100 to respective school Art Dept.
Note: Home School winners can choose a Williamson County based charity of their choice to designate their matching award to if they don't have a home school-related Art Dept.
