Purpose and Recognition:
1. Winners will be notified and invited to attend the awards reception to be held at WCAR on May 12 from 6-7:30pm.
2. The selected art pieces will be featured at WCAR through the end of July
Eligibility:
Open to all Williamson County freshman-senior high school student artists (public, private, and home school)
• Eligible categories include charcoal, mixed media, pencil, colored pencil, oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, tempera and color ink, preferred. No collages or sculptures
• Submit only original work.
• Compositions taken from published material will not be considered original. Paintings based on another person’s photograph (even if it is copyright-free) are NOT eligible.
• Artwork must be solely created by the student. No parental or other outside assistance is allowed. • Artwork considered to be obscene or offensive will NOT be considered.
Entry Information:
One piece of artwork may be submitted per student and should be selected with the assistance of the school’s art teacher. Attached entry form must be complete, legible and have a parent or guardian signature, artist’s signature and art teacher signature. Entry form must be submitted at the same time as art work to be considered. If entry form and artwork are not both received, the entry will not be eligible for the competition. All winning artwork should be brought to Williamson County Association of Realtors at 1646 Westgate Circle, Suite 104, Brentwood, TN 37027. WCAR and the REALTOR Good Works Foundation cannot be responsible for damage theft and/or loss to any piece of artwork once it has been submitted. All care and caution will be taken when handling each piece. Artwork chosen will be on display through the end of May at WCAR and will be made available to the media for promotional purposes. Students will be notified when art is ready to be picked up from WCAR.
Award Amounts:
$1,000 to the 1st Place Winner + $1000 to Art Dept. of winner's school
$500 to the 2nd Place Winner + $500 to respective school Art Dept.
$250 to the 3rd Place Winner + $250 to respective school Art Dept.
$100 each to 7 remaining art finalists + $100 to each respective school Art Dept.
(Note: Home School winners can choose a Williamson county-based charity of their choice to designate their matching award to if they don't have a home school-related Art Dept.)
